The Kumana National Park, which is situated in the East Coast of SriLanka is considered as one of the best bird sanctuaries in Asia. It is located 391 Km away from Colombo while covering nearly 35,665 hectares. Certainly, Kumana is a paradise home for an enormous endemic and endangered species of birds, where out of the country’s 400 birds, 225 call Kumana their home.
Beauty of the Kumana can be discovered also from the natural mangrove swamp, the “Kumana Villu”. This is surrounded with a plenty of tanks and lagoons where a thousands of birds, nest and breed.
